Los Coyotes Maybe Lost For Ever!

One of the best 4 Wheeling Spots in So Cal

It has been a couple of years now since out last trip to the Reservation of Los Coyotes. The tribe operated it for many years as a place to take your 4 wheel drive vehicles or buggies. Over the last 20 years it’s been closed on and off. The tribe tried restricting it to hikers and Mountain Bikers for a while. At one point, they were even thinking of using it for a land fill! Anyway, it always seemed to eventually open back up for off roading and camping. In 2004/05 it was closed for a complete refurbishment. Again they are going to try catering to just the hiker/mountain biker crowd. Now the last I read in the newspaper, areas for hiking and biking keep growing the land for off roading keeps shirking. Time will tell if their market strategy makes since and dollars.

Ren’s Ride to the Summit

So the adventure starts out with us all sitting around the campfire at Tierra Del Sol. Its near the end of the season and we are all sharing stories about our various trips. Ocotillo Wells, Superstition Mountain, Razor Road, Means Dry Lake and of course Glamis. But then “Good Old Gerry” comes up with a new adventure to wrap up the season, he proposes a ride from Bomb Bay Beach to Chirico Summit! Oh Yea we are all in on this one!!! Doesn’t take but a second and the date is set. By the way, “Where is Bomb Bay Beach?”, I thought in silence. Oh well I already said yes!
